WHAT IS AN ASBESTOS SURVEY?
An asbestos survey will determine the location and type of asbestos on your property. During the survey, we will take samples of any materials that we think contain asbestos and these will be sent to a lab for confirmation.
The lab will then confirm with us what material contained asbestos and the type of asbestos to help us to recommend the best resolution. We will then put together a report that will contain the:

Asbestos surveys and samplings can only be carried out by trained and qualified surveyors. This is a legal requirement.
Management Surveys
A management survey is the simplest asbestos survey and is carried out to find solutions to managing asbestos. The survey will often contain where the asbestos is likely to be, the materials, condition, and more, so that the building users are aware of where it is likely to be.
This is a visual inspection and usually involves minor sampling or intrusive work

When construction work is carried out it can disturb any materials that contain asbestos. This can pose a risk to anyone who comes into contact with the fibres.
A refurbishment and demolition survey will be needed once these materials have been disturbed as part of all types of construction work.
Refurbishment and demolition surveys are more detailed. The area being surveyed usually needs to be vacated as extensive sampling is carried out. This will determine the type, location, and amount of asbestos within the site. This will include within the building's structure. The survey will help the construction team to take the necessary precautions to keep themselves safe during construction.
Asbestos Sampling
Asbestos sampling will help to determine the materials that contain asbestos and is commonly carried out as part of our surveys. However, we can offer sampling as a service on its own.
Sampling will help us to determine the amount of asbestos, as well as the material it is sat within and the type of asbestos, helping us to provide you with a detailed report.
